Additional Informations: The Cartier Santos dates back to 1904, when Louis Cartier created a wristwatch for Alberto Santos Dumont to allow him to read the time during his flight experiments. This makes the Santos one of the earliest wristwatches designed for practical everyday use. The modern Santos line was reintroduced in 1978 and produced for the first time in a combination of steel and gold with visible screws on the bezel.
The reference 2961 described here belongs to this generation and features the characteristic square case of the Santos Carrée. It is equipped with an automatic movement, a dial with Roman numerals and an integrated steel and gold bracelet. These elements reflect the typical design of Santos models from the late nineteen seventies and early nineteen eighties.
This example is in unpolished condition, preserving the original surfaces and edges. Only the bezel has been lightly polished. The watch comes with original service papers as well as an original Cartier pochette.
