Additional Informations: With the introduction of the Day Date in 1956, Rolex set new standards in the world of luxury watches. However, it soon became clear that the original model could still be improved from a technical standpoint. As a result, Rolex introduced the reference 6611 and 6611B around 1957, equipped with the reliable automatic calibre 1055.
The 6611B was among the first models to carry the inscription “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” on the dial. This designation represented the highest level of precision and exceptional watchmaking at the time. Our example also retains the original “SWISS only” dial, which is rarely found today on surviving pieces in rose gold.
The rose gold version was, after the platinum model, one of the rarest variations within the Day Date line, as rose gold was produced far less frequently than yellow or white gold.
A fully preserved piece with original box and papers significantly enhances both its historical and collectible value. Especially with vintage watches, authenticity, complete documentation and excellent condition are essential. This watch brings together luxurious design, technical importance and a meaningful piece of horological history. It is more than a timepiece; it is an expression of style, rarity and lasting value.
