Additional Informations: There are watches that are rare, and there are watches that continue to raise questions even after decades in the trade. This Franck Muller undoubtedly belongs to the latter category:
Reference 5850 QP M bears the individual number No. 01 and differs significantly from the well known 5850 QP models. Equipped with a manual winding movement and lacking a central seconds hand, it embodies the creative and uncompromising early years of Franck Muller like few other watches.
Despite extensive research, we have been unable to locate another example of this configuration anywhere in the world. The combination of the 5850 QP M reference, the manual winding movement and the No. 01 numbering suggests an extremely limited production. Whether this watch represents the first piece of a small series, a pre series example, or even a unique piece can no longer be determined with certainty.
What is certain, however, is this: in more than 25 years of passion for exceptional vintage watches, we have never encountered another Franck Muller that raises so many questions while being equally fascinating.
