Additional Informations: An opportunity that rarely presents itself: a Rolex Day-Date Ref. 1803 in an exceptionally original and unpolished condition. The case shows full proportions and sharp edges – just as they appear on untouched examples.
The President bracelet is tight, with no stretch whatsoever (and 100% not re-pinned) – a condition almost never seen on a nearly fifty-year-old Day-Date.
The black dial with gilt printing is absolutely flawless, displaying impressive depth and presence. All tritium lume plots are intact and perfectly match the tritium in the hands.
The watch comes complete with its original box, papers, and the translation booklet. Naturally, both booklets are included in the set – the rare “Day-Date” leaflet and the classic “Your Rolex Oyster.” A set this complete and this well-preserved is a true rarity today.
Introduced in 1956, the Day-Date was the first wristwatch to display both the date and the day spelled out in full. It quickly became known as the “President” and remains a symbol of success and influence to this day. Few examples demonstrate the timeless quality of this model as impressively as this superbly preserved 1803.
